Australian sentenced by Saudi court to 500 lashes

Australian citizen Manor Almaribe, was sentenced to 500 lashes Tueday, after the Saudia Arabian Court found him guilty of blasphemy, ABC news reported Wednesday.
The 45-year-old father of five was arrested in November, during a pilgrimage to Mecca, according to ABC.
The Australia ambassador has contacted the Saudi authorities to plead for leniency.
