Ayalon, MK Rotem to visit US

Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon will leave for an official visit to the US Sunday night to meet with senior members of the US administration, members of Congress and Jewish community leaders to discuss Iran, the process with the Palestinians and Israel-US relations.
Ayalon plans to discuss the need for strong sanctions against Iran, as well as express Israel’s desire to renew direct negotiations with the Palestinians without preconditions, in meetings with Deputy Secretary of State Jim Steinberg, senior Middle East adviser Dennis Ross, US Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice and senior members of the Congress and Senate. He will also brief the American press on these topics.
Ayalon will be joined by Knesset Law Committee Chairman MK David Rotem (Israel Beiteinu), for his meetings in New York with senior members of the Jewish community and the Jewish media. They plan to discuss the proposed conversion law and relations between Israel and the Jewish Diaspora.
