Former foreign minister Yossi Beilin said on Monday that the government should have allowed the Gaza protest ships to proceed.
Beilin said that by blockading Gaza, Israel remains in occupation of the territory. To properly withdraw from Gaza, Israel needs to allow free access to the territory, he said.
Beilin questioned the judgement of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's decision to prevent the ships from reaching Gaza.
Speaking to Channel 2 Beilin said, "We've left Gaza and left destruction and it now seems clear we are still occupying Gaza. What's on these ships that we can't let in?"
