Breaking silence, Barak backs Galant scandal probe

Defense Minister Ehud Barak broke his silence Sunday on the Galant scandal, saying he was "convinced the document's authenticity can and should be quickly examined, and the identity of those responsible exposed."
Barak also said he supported Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's decision to turn the matter over to Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein.
The "Galant document" is a purported PR plan designed to secure the position of next Chief of Staff for Maj.-Gen Yoav Galant, exposed by Channel 2 Friday.
