Cabinet to vote on renewable energy program

The cabinet will vote on Sunday morning about adopting new measures concerning renewable energy, among them to include increased caps on megawatts produced by solar, wind and biogas, the Prime Minister's Office said Saturday.
In adopting the new plan, the government would hope to achieve its goals of reaching 5 percent renewables by 2014 and 10% by 2020, which would be accomplished by generating an estimated 2,760 megawatts from these sources, according to Sunday's meeting agenda.
