Car runs red light, hits light train on test run

A private car collided with the light train conducting test runs in Jerusalem at the Uzi Narkis bridge on Wednesday, causing minor damage but resulting in no injuries.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the woman driving the car ran a red light. This is the second time in recent weeks that cars collided with the train after disobeying traffic lights. The last such accident also resulted in no casualties.

A spokesman for CityPass which will be operating the light rail reiterated the importance of obeying traffic rules, and expressed his relief that Wednesday's accident only resulted in property damage.
