Channel 2 report proves Kadima spied on Netanyahu

Kadima hired a private investigator to trail Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in the last election, a Channel 2 report Tuesday proved via documents and the testimony of someone who saw footage of Netanyahu and his wife that the investigator filmed on his phone.

The party had vigorously denied a similar report last month that did not include such evidence and threatened to file lawsuits against reporters who followed up on the story.

Kadima responded Tuesday by saying that party head Tzipi Livni and the rest of the MKs in the faction were unaware of Kadima direcor-general Moshe Shehori hiring Heresh Hakirot investigator Rafi Hami to trail the Netanyahus.

Likud faction chairman Ze'ev Elkin called upon State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss to investigate the report.
