Cops fire into air after being surrounded near Nazareth

Two police officers were forced to fire shots into the air after being surrounded during what began as a routine traffic stop at the entrance to Kfar Mashhad near Nazareth, police said.
The incident began when officers stopped a car for inspection. When the occupants of the car fled, police gave chase, quickly catching one of them. Dozens of people then surrounded the officers, allowing the captured suspect to escape.
Officers fired several shots in the air in order to disperse the crowd gathered around them. One suspect was arrested shortly thereafter.
