Danon comes out against appointment of Indyk as US peace talks envoy

Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon sent Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu a letter Tuesday requesting that the US State Department reconsider the possible appointment of former US ambassador to Israel Martin Indyk as the US special envoy to the peace talks.
Channel 2 reported on Sunday that Indyk was to be appointed the American mediator for the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.
“Martin Indyk is the Chair of the New Israel Fund’s International Council – an organization that has knowingly funded leaders of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanction (BDS) movement.  It is important that the Secretary of State appoint someone who can act as in impartial mediator during the up-coming talks,” Danon stated.
