Earthquake drill to present fallen TA skyscraper scenario on Wednesday

The Shalom Tower in Tel Aviv will "collapse" under the force of an earthquake, and thousands of people will be buried under the debris -- at least according to a Magen David Adom (MDA) drill that will be held on Wednesday. It is not 9/11 but 9.9.2009. MDA director-general Eli Bin said that a powerful earthquake is not a wild scenario but realistic, as a major earthquake is overdue in the region. The rescue operation will be observed by Dr. Avi Shapira, chairman of the interministerial committee for earthquake preparedness, defense officials and others.
