'Egged acquiring sound systems to help the blind on buses'

The Egged spokesman on Sunday responded to an indictment the bus company received for operating buses that were inaccessible to the blind, saying that Egged is currently in the process of acquiring and installing advanced sound systems both within and outside of buses that meet legal requirements for helping the visually impaired.

Ron Ratner of Egged said that the company publishes on a regular basis guidelines to all drivers to declare the name of each station where the bus stops. The Egged spokesman said that it should not be ignored that most of the bus drivers do follow these guidelines.
