Eight years for minor convicted of manslaughter

The Beersheba District Juvenile Court sentenced a 16-year-old boy to eight years in prison on Monday, after he pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of another teen boy.
District Court Judge Mordechay Levy said the case was "another incident in which a knife replaced words, and thus deprived a young [boy] of his life."
The defendant, whose name cannot be released as he is a minor, stabbed his friend to death with a 20 cm kitchen knife in June last year following a fight outside the victim's house. The defendant stabbed the victim once in the groin, with such force that the knife blade penetrated the victim's pelvis and internal organs.
