Environment Ministry campaign site hacked for Nakba Day

The Environmental Protection Ministry’s “Let’s Think Green” campaign website, which was promoted last week by Minister Gilad Erdan to the United Nations Commission on Sustainability and Development, was hacked on Monday by a Gazan group as part of the previous day’s Nakba protests, a release from the ministry said.

Some items published on the ministry’s campaign site by the hackers included slogans like “Death to Israel,” pictures of Palestinian flags and references to Nakba Day that called for a cancellation of the 1948 borders and the return of Jaffa, Haifa, Tel Aviv and Acre, according to the statement.

The ministry’s campaign site, available in Hebrew, English and Arabic, serves to provide Israelis with useable tips about how to increase recycling and reduce consumption.
