Fire at daycare center in Elad leaves 18 toddlers wounded

A fire broke out in a nursery in the town of Elad on Sunday, leaving 18 toddlers and two caretakers lightly-wounded from smoke inhalation.
Employees of the nursery managed to avert a tragedy and put the flames out before any of the toddlers or staff was seriously injured.
Paramedics who arrived at the scene provided treatment to the toddlers and the staff at the scene and evacuated a few to hospital for treatment.
Though a definitive cause for the fire has not been found, investigators suspect that the nursery's air conditioning system may have shorted out and part of its plastic covering caught on fire, filling the room with smoke.
