FM: Iran wants nukes in order to spread its ideology

Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman said Sunday that Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons stems from the Islamic Republic's desire to spread its ideology all over the world.

During a meeting with the Jewish community in Singapore, Liberman said that Iran is seeking to "spread the Islamic Revolution to as many countries as possible, and the nuclear weapon is merely a tool meant to aid in achieving this goal."

The foreign minister stated that the leadership of Iran makes use of Israel as an excuse to carry out its actions.

"Iran has a fanatical and charismatic leadership...that uses Israel as an excuse, but they are actually battling against the entire West over whose values will control the world," Liberman said.
