Government unveils new Dead Sea coin

Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin, Tourism Minister Stas Meseznikov and Bank of Israel representative Motti Fine jointly launched a new Dead Sea coin on Monday, a statement from the Tourism Ministry said. The minister and the speaker thanked Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for his involvement in advancing a governmental campaign to promote the election of the Dead Sea in the New 7 Wonders of Nature competition, the statement said.

The campaign was approved in last week’s cabinet meeting and will allocation NIS 8.75 million to promoting the Dead Sea’s win both inside and outside of Israel, in hopes of increasing tourism to the area.
