Heimann approved as J'lem Municipality's director-general

Yossi Heimann was unanimously approved as Jerusalem Municipality's next director-general, in a Sunday vote held by the committee tasked with manning the position. Heimman will officially be replacing Yair Ma’ayan, who held the position for three years, on January 1, 2011.
“Heimann is a value-oriented man, educational and professional, who brings with him abilities and extraordinary experience in large organizations, both in planning and in management,” Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, who was also part of the committee, said on Sunday. “His skills and vast experience will enable him to promote and expedite Jerusalem's main projects according to the municipality's vision, and push them forward.” Barkat also thanked Ma'ayan for his service to the city, and wished him luck in future endeavors.
The fifty-year-old Brig.-Gen (res.) Heimann, who in the past commanded over the Bahad 1 officers' training base and until recently headed the IDF’s Strategic Planning Department, will begin the transition process with Ma'ayan in December.
