IAF commander resigns over training accident

A commander of an Israeli Air Force helicopter squadron stepped down from his post on Tuesday after an investigation into an aerial accident involving one of the squadron’s helicopters found serious operational flaws.
The accident took place last month when a Black Hawk helicopter participating in an exercise in the Golan Heights, hit an electrical cable.
At the time, IAF commander Maj.-Gen. Ido Nehushtan decided to suspend the nationwide IAF exercise for an entire day.
