Iranian businessman killed in Brazil

SAO PAULO — Police say they are investigating the murder of an Iranian businessman whose body was found in his apartment in northeastern Brazil.

Police inspector Wagner Domingues identifies the murder victim as Bahnan Guerafar, a 71-year-old real estate businessman, who for the past 20 years divided his time between the city of Recife and Paris.

Domingues said Thursday that Guerafar was killed at least two days ago with several blows to his head with a blunt object. His body was found sprawled on his bed by one of his employees who had a key to the apartment.

He says police have no suspects or hard leads on the murder.
