Israel to move clocks forward for daylight savings time

Israel was scheduled to begin daylight savings time early Friday morning by moving clocks forward one hour at 2 a.m..
Summer time was scheduled to last until September 23, when clocks will be moved back one hour.
Israel's daylight savings time ends more than a month earlier than in most European countries, who turn back the clock  on the last Sunday of October.
Since 2005, DST has ended before Yom Kippur so that the fast finishes earlier in the day. DST will therefore end again this year on September 23, three days before the fast.
