Japan, US, South Korea mull talks on North Korea

TOKYO - Japan, the United States and South Korea are considering holding high-level talks on the situation in North Korea following the death of its leader Kim Jong-il, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Osamu Fujimura said on Tuesday.
"The date has not been decided but it will be at the soonest possible opportunity," Fujimura said at a news conference.
Japan is also exchanging information with China on the North Korean issue, Fujimura said, adding that there is no change in plans for Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda to visit China on Dec. 25 and 26.
