Kadima: We will not take part in investigative committees

Kadima on Wednesday announced that it would not be taking part in any parliamentary investigative committees into the funding of non-governmental organizations.
"In a democratic nation it is illegal for politicians to investigate citizens, and though we don't agree with the actions of these organizations, we believe that the formation of investigative committees constitutes a new low point in the history of the Knesset, which is making cynical use of parliamentary measures for purposes of political persecution," Kadima MK Shlomo Molla wrote in a letter to the Knesset House Committee.
"The formation of an investigative committee is a dangerous and anti-democratic act which damages the foundations of the State of Israel as Jewish and democratic state," Molla added.
