Kenya to deport Muslim cleric who called for murder of Jews, Hindus

Kenya to deport Jamaican

The Kenyan government will soon deport a Jamaican-born Muslim cleric who has previously been jailed in Britain for soliciting the murder of Jews and Hindus, Kenyan immigration minister Otieno Kajwang said Monday. Kajwang said that Sheik Abdullah el-Faisal entered Kenya from Tanzania on December 24, and immigration officers did not know at the time who he was because of computer errors. Kajwang said Monday that Faisal is on an international watch list. In 2003, the cleric was sentenced to nine years in the UK after being convicted of incitement to murder and stirring racial hatred by urging followers to kill Hindus, Jews and Americans. Faisal became eligible for parole and was deported from Britain upon his release in 2007.
