Libyan officials: Envoy to take aid to rebel city

TRIPOLI - Libya's government is sending an envoy to the rebel-held city of Benghazi on Monday night with a consignment of humanitarian aid, a senior Libyan government official told Reuters.
"It will be this evening," said the source, who did not want to be named. "An envoy will depart from Tripoli to Benghazi. The envoy is carrying medicine and food and medical equipment to help the people in Benghazi."
Qatar-based al Jazeera television earlier reported that Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi had appointed an envoy to speak to the rebels based around Benghazi. But the government source made no mention of any planned negotiations.
