Lieberman due to leave on official visit to Spain

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman is due to leave Wednesday on an official visit to Spain.
Lieberman will meet in Madrid with Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, Foreign Minister Miguel Ángel Moratinos, chairman of the Foreign Committee of the Spanish Congress of Deputies Josep Antoni Duran i Lleida, President of the autonomous Community of Madrid Esperanza Aguirre, members of the Foreign Committee of the Spanish Congress of Deputies, the Jewish community and members of the Israel-Spain Friendship Association.
Spain currently holds the presidency of the European Union, and Lieberman will confer with his hosts on all open issues between Israel and the EU, including the upgrading of relations, the Foreign Ministry said. 
In addition, the round of talks with the UNIFIL commander in Lebanon, Spanish Major-General Alberto Asarta Cuevas, regarding the issue of the northern border village Ghajar was expected to be discussed.
Lieberman is expected to return to Israel on Friday.
