Man who stabbed policeman Assulin to be charged with murder

The State Attorney's office announced to the Supreme Court on Sunday that it intends to file a murder indictment against a convicted criminal, Ratib Abu Atza, following the death of police officer Shlomo Assulin earlier this month.

Assulin was stabbed in the neck by Abu Azer, who was discovered with a stolen car.

Assulin lost consciousness after the stabbing, which injured his brainstem. The police officer remained in a coma for five years, but died in hospital two weeks ago after his condition deteriorated.
