Man with 15,000 weight-loss pills detained at airport

A resident of Eilat was detained by Customs Authority personnel at Ben Gurion International Airport on Thursday after 15,000 weight-loss pills were found in his luggage.
The man, 28, told authorities that he came back to Israel from a trip to Uzbekistan and that he intended to sell the pills on the local market.
A Health Ministry pharmacist determined that the pills contained substances requiring a doctor's prescription due to potential side effects, including death.
The pills were confiscated and the man will face customs violations charges.
