McCain says White House hurt Israel in standoff with Iran

US Senator John McCain criticized on Sunday the Obama administration for undermining Israel's standing in its face-off with archenemy Iran.
Speaking with CNN, McCain said that the White House leaked to the media that US National Security Adviser Tom Donilon was visiting Israel in an attempt to persuade Jerusalem not to strike Iran's nuclear facilities.
McCain said this leak weakened Israel in front of Iran, and "rightly" angered Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, according to Politico. He said the incident put a strain on US-Israel relations, adding that the ties are "in very bad shape right now."
