Meretz: Lapid's fate is to disappear from political map

Meretz leader Zehava Gal-On responded to journalist-turned-politician Yair Lapid's first policy speech on Thursday, saying that "the 'Lapid party's' fate is to disappear from the political map."

"Lapid is telling the public what he imagines it wants to hear," Gal-On said in a written statement. "Lapid's speech proves that Meretz is the only party that represents the Left, and the only (party) that can serve as a [values-based], moral alternative to the economic-diplomatic ideology of the Right," she added.
