MK Yisrael Hasson (Kadima) responded in a statement Sunday night to the proposal that those exempt from IDF service on religious grounds be monitored to verify the validity of their claims. "The army should not be the body determining who is religious and keeping kosher and Shabbat," he said. "Furthermore, the army can't be following private citizens through the use of private investigation companies in a society pretending to be democratic," he added.
