MK: Israel's character at stake over women's rights

Meretz MK Nitzan Horowitz characterized the debate on women's rights as a struggle over Israel's character on Tuesday.
Speaking at a Beit Shemesh rally for women's rights, Horowitz said, "What is at stake is not a specific neighborhood or bus line, but the character of the state. Will Israel be an advanced, democratic country or a closed, backward society?"
He continued: "In recent week, many of us feel that our countries is committing suicide, that if things continue in this direction, there will not be a future here."
