Mofaz: Talks should continue even if terror increases

MK Shaul Mofaz (Kadima) on Monday said that terrorist activities will increase as Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations move forward, but that should not stop Israel from taking part in the peace process. The comments came in an interview with Israel Radio
Mofaz added that progress in the peace process is necessary for Israel and that a lack of such progress is bad for Israel.
He stated that because of the large differences between the two sides, it is necessary to come to an intermediary agreement on the issues of borders and security first and only then to try to obtain a permanent agreement.
On the issue of the upcoming end of the settlement freeze, Mofaz said that he saw no reason to continue the freeze in large settlements or parts of Jerusalem that will remain in Israeli custody as part of a future agreement.
