More than 1,000 Syrians flee for Turkey in last 24 hours

More than 1,000 Syrians fled to Turkey in last the 24 hours, AFP, citing an anonymous Turkish foreign ministry official reported Wednesday.
"1,100 Syrians mostly women and children fled to Turkey in the last 24 hours through a border crossing in the town of Reyhanli," the official reportedly said.
The latest outpouring of refugees was triggered by Sunday's attack on a bakery in the rebel-held town of Halfaya, in which at least 60 were killed.
According to AFP, more than 148,000 Syrians have fled to Turkey since the uprising against President Bashar Assad began nearly two years ago.
