Neeman supports canceling law granting mothers custody

Justice Minister Yaakov Neeman announced Thursday that he is adopting the recommendations of the Schnit Committee which proposed that the law automatically granting custody of children under six years of age to their mother in a divorce case be canceled.
Ne'eman instructed Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein to draft a bill calling for the cancellation of the law.
The Schnit Committee came to the conclusion that the 50-year-old law should be overturned after seven years of dealing with the subject.
