Israel Law Center, a right-wing legal organization, petitioned the High Court of Justice on Monday demanding that the state indict Hamas terrorists on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity instead of murder, as is the case today. The organization, represented by its director, attorney Nitzana Darshan-Leitner, charged that Attorney General Menahem Mazuz violated Israeli law by failing to indict terrorists who fire rockets at the Israeli civilian population in contradiction of the Fourth Geneva Convention, the Hague Convention and other international treaties. Darshan-Leitner wrote that these laws and treaties have been accepted as binding on Israeli courts and law enforcement authorities.
