Opposition head Shelly Yacimovich to meet with Obama

US President Barack Obama's delegation asked Labor leader Shelly Yacimovich to meet with Obama at President Shimon Peres's residence on Thursday, she announced Tuesday night.
Official protocol calls for visiting heads of state to meet with an opposition leader, but Yacimovich has not officially been voted into the post, which is still technically held by Kadima leader Shaul Mofaz.
When Yacimovich was opposition leader in part of the last Knesset, several top international figures declined to meet with her, including then-US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, and Russian president Vladimir Putin.
