Palestinian factions walk out of unity talks in Cairo

At least eight Palestinian factions walked out of reconciliation talks in Cairo Tuesday, a Palestinian source told Ma'an News Agency.
The walkout occurred after Fatah delegation head Azzam Ahmed told them they could not participate in the session because they are not a part of the Palestinian Liberation Organization.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Ma'an that the factions that staged the walkout included the Popular Resistance Committees, the Al Ahrar Movement, Fatah al Intifada, As Saiqa and the Popular Struggle Front.
Representatives from various Palestinian factions were meeting in Cairo Tuesday as part of a week of talks focusing on the formation of a Palestinian unity government and presidential elections in May 2012.
