Speaking at a Likud Central Committee event at the Tel Aviv fairground Tuesday evening, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu expressed disappointment over Kadima's refusal to join his government, but said he was glad that his own party was unified. He stressed that he had always been interested in establishing a national-unity government. MKs Tzipi Hotovely and Ayoub Kara criticized Netanyahu's attempt to bring seven Kadima MKs into the Likud. Kara called the Kadima MKs "traitors who tried to destroy the Likud," while Hotovely said that "Leftists belong in the back benches of the opposition - and not in our party."
