Police allow gay pride march to take route past Knesset

Jerusalem District Police agreed Tuesday to allow the Jerusalem gay pride march to take place on the route that organizers had requested, which will take it past the Knesset building and culminate in a rally in the nearby Rose Garden.
The police had originally requested that the July 29 parade take an alternative route for security reasons but agreed to the oraganizers' desired route after talks between the two sides.
The parade is being held to coincide with the one year anniversary of the murder of a gay youth in a Tel Aviv night club.
