Police detain additional suspect in Mount Herzl disaster

Police detained for questioning the producer of the Independence Day ceremony at Mount Herzl which was being rehearsed on Wednesday when a lighting fixture collapsed, killing an IDF soldier and injuring several others.

Police will decide whether to seek to remand the man to custody following the investigation into his involvement in causing the soldier's death by negligence.

Earlier on Thursday, the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court ruled to release four additional suspects that had been connected to the collapse of the lighting rig. The suspects include the two owners of the 'Itzuv Bama' company, the company engineer, and a security consultant from the public diplomacy administration.
