Police reject route of Jerusalem gay pride march

Police decided Thursday to reject the route of a pride march that was planned by gay organizations in Jerusalem.
The pride march, scheduled for July 29th, was to coincide with the anniversary of the fatal 2009 shootings at a gay youth club in Tel Aviv.
Organizers had planned a march through the streets of Jerusalem that would end outside the Knesset.
However the police decided to reject the original route because it would involve passing by a yeshiva. The police accepted a alternative route that will pass through side streets only and end in a public park.
