Police seize shipment of Turkish opium, arrest 2 suspects

Tel Aviv police on Monday announced the seizure of 8.5 kilograms of Turkish opium hidden in paintings intended for a suspect in Holon.
Two businessmen from Holon were arrested on Sunday on suspicion of ordering the drugs, marking the end of a six-month-long investigation.
A package containing four landscape pictures was intercepted by the drug section of Ben Gurion Airport customs.
"The drugs were hidden in the frames of the pictures," police said in a statement. Detectives allowed the package to make its way to a business in Holon, before arresting the business owner and his partner after they received the shipment.
