Police stop car doing 207 KMPH; driver 'was in a hurry'

At 4:30 a.m.on Wednesday police stopped a Chrysler car near the Golani junction in the Galilee, which was being driven at 207 kilometers per hour.  The speed limit on the road is 90 kilometers per hour.
The 33-year-old driver, a local resident, said he was "in a hurry, because he was taking his friend to hospital." His friend was drunk and the driver, whose breath smelled of alcohol, refused an alcohol test.
This is the driver's fifth speeding offense. His license was suspended for a month, his car impounded, and he will be brought before a judge later in the day.
