Polish Shoah monument vandalized again

A commemorative monument in the Jewish cemetery of Raigrod was vandalized over the weekend, according to the World Jewish Restitution Organization.

The monument, which was designed and carved in Israel and installed in September 2014, was hit with red spray paint in Polish reading “F**k the Jews” and “smell the gas.”

In April 2015 the monument was smashed and set on fire by vandals who were never caught by police, the organization said. It was restored and returned to almost its original state just a few months ago.

“This is not only an attack on a monument; it is an attempt to destroy history and to wipe out the memory of those who were killed in the Holocaust,” said Gideon Taylor, WJRO chair of operations.
