Rafah border reopens to allow Palestinian crossing

The Rafah land border crossing between Egypt and Gaza will be open from 7 a.m. Wednesday until 5 p.m. Thursday in order to allow passage to Palestinians stranded at airports worldwide, according to Al-Masry Al-Youm on Wednesday.
Egyptian authorities closed the Rafah crossing for five days starting Friday for Id al-Fitr. The crossing was also shut for nine days following the deadly attack on a Sinai military checkpoint that killed 16 Egyptian security officers earlier this month.
