Report: Egyptian police hunting alleged criminals in Sinai

Egyptian police launched a manhunt in northern Sinai for 120 people wanted on suspicion of attacking police stations and killing policemen, Egypt Independent quoted a security source in Sinai as saying Wednesday.
According the the security official, the suspected criminals are well-funded Islamic extremists.
He also claimed that the financial backers would be exposed soon.
Last Wednesday, Egypt's armed forces, in conjunction with police, launched Operation Eagle to cleanse north Sinai of terrorists following the killing by suspected Islamists earlier this month of 16 Egyptian soldiers near the borders with Gaza and Israel.
