Report: Iran says it will sue FIFA official over hijab ban

The head of Iran's soccer federation (IFF), Ali Kaffashian, announced on Saturday that he intends to file a law suit with FIFA against an official who disqualified the Iranian women's soccer team for wearing the hijab head covering during a World Cup qualifying game against Jordan, Iranian news agency ISNA reported.
The Iranian women's team, which in the past has accepted the FIFA compromise headdress of covering their heads but not ears or necks, insisted on wearing the traditional hijab in the most recent game. FIFA has accommodated the Iranian team by allowing them to wear long pants instead of the common shorts.
