Report: Netanyahu convenes cabinet over Schalit deal

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has convened an emergency cabinet meeting to discuss and possibly approve the details of a deal for the release of kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Schalit, Army Radio reported Tuesday night.

Government officials reportedly met two days ago to hold late night talks outlining a final prisoner-swap deal with Hamas.

Pan-Arab news channel Al Arabiya reported that Israel and Hamas had reached a final deal that would allow for the release of Schalit, who has held captive in Gaza for over five years.
