Rights group slams upcoming Hamas execution of a man for crimes he committed as a child

The Human Rights Watch group called on Hamas on Wednesday to halt an execution of a Gazan man who committed his crimes as a child.
According to their report, Hani Abu Aliyan was initially sentenced for life in prison, at the age of 14, after he killed and sexually assaulted a boy.
The rights group now believes that Aliyan, now 28, is the next man slated for an execution after an interview with  Gazan prosecutor general Ismail Jaber revealed that an execution of a convict has been approved for "the coming days."
"Imposing the death penalty for a crime committed by a child makes the executions under Gaza's abusive justice system especially atrocious," said Joe Stork who is the acting Middle East director of the Human Rights Watch.
