Romney: Obama 'threw Israel under the bus'

Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney said Thursday night that US President Barack Obama "threw Israel under the bus" when he designated the pre-1967 borders as a starting point for negotiations, and that he "disrespected" Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
Speaking at a CNN Republican debate, Romney said Obama was not standing with Israel when he brought up settlement building at the United Nations, but said nothing about rockets being fired on Israel from Gaza.
Hamas's presence in the Palestinian government, Romeny said, is the reason Palestinians and Israelis have not made peace.
"There's the belief that the Jewish people do not have a right to a state" Romney said of Palestinians, specifying schoolbooks that advocate killing Jews and political discourse by Fatah as examples.
Should he be elected president, Romney said, "I will stand with our friend Israel."
